CivicRecap

What CivicRecap does

CivicRecap turns the video recording of a public meeting into something you can actually read. Every meeting on the record is transcribed, aligned to the published agenda, and turned into a written briefing plus a set of highlight clips, each one anchored to the agenda item it came from — so you can see what your city council, school board or planning commission decided without sitting through three hours of it.

What is public, and what needs an account

Finding a meeting is public: search, the directory, and every meeting's title, council or board, date, agenda and published clip headlines are open to anyone, with or without an account. Watching the recording, reading the briefing and opening the transcript need a free account. The recording stays with the council or board that made it: clips are watched on the page or shared as a link, never handed over as a file.
